Tresorit

Tresorit is an end-to-end encrypted cloud storage and file sharing service founded in 2011 by Istvan Lam, Szilveszter Szebeni, and Gyorgy Szilagyi. The company was originally established in Budapest, Hungary, with its operational headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, combining Swiss privacy laws with Hungarian engineering talent. In 2021, Tresorit was acquired by Swiss Post, the national postal service of Switzerland.

The platform provides encrypted file storage, sync, and sharing with zero-knowledge encryption, meaning Tresorit has no ability to access user files. It offers secure link sharing with password protection and expiry dates, encrypted email attachments via an Outlook plugin, digital rights management (DRM) for shared files, eSign for document signing, and detailed activity logs for compliance. Tresorit integrates with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory for enterprise deployments.

As a Swiss-Hungarian company now backed by Swiss Post, Tresorit operates under some of the strongest privacy jurisdictions in Europe.
